3.3 Launching of the installation 

3.3.1 Initialization 

Insert the AsTEX CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive, then:

• With Windows 9x or NT 4.0 :
  • Click on Démarrer  | Exécuter (Start | Execute).   
  • Type d:\astexdis\setup.pif then click on OK. If your CD-ROM drive has another name than D:, do adapt the command you type accordingly.
• With Windows 3.x  :
  • Open the file manager.
  • Bouble-click on the file setup.pif in the directory where is the distribution (d:\astexdis).
• With DOS or OS/2:
  • Come back to the DOS, or open a DOS window of OS/2.
  • Type d:\astexdis\setup

If you downloaded the distribution in the d:\astexdis directory of your hard disk, proceed as with the CD-ROM (cf. sec. 3.1.2).

3.3.2 Choice of the language 

This menu lets you choose the language of the menus and the on line help (English or French).

Type on the key Entry to select French, or click on the option English to select English.

3.3.3 Choice of the installation main directory 

The initialization program automatically detects the disk with maximal capacity, accessible in write mode, and proposes you to install the distribution in the main directory \ast of this disk.

Type on Enter to accept this choice (or click on the proposed name), or type another name of disk or directory. Choose a name with at most 8 characters as allowed by the DOS¹ .
