Several files in Plain TeX, LaTeX 2.09 and LaTeX2
are included (directory
ast\astex\demos) in order to verify that the formats for English and French work
correctly, as well as the creation of bibliography and index, the coupling between
TeX and PostScript, the inclusions of figures and the use of external PostScript fonts.
They must be tested from TeXShell and the result must be visualized with the icons
AsTeX dvi, AsTeX dvi color or AsTeX PS.
- Compilation with F6 Compose then visualization with AsTeX dvi :

mathpl.tex (Plain TeX), mathl209.tex (LaTeX 2.09), mathl2e.tex
(LaTeX2), amstexpl.tex (AMS fonts and typing in French and English
with the package fr), mathindx.tex (MakeIndex) and demobib.tex
(BibTeX).
- Compilation with F6 Compose, transformation into PostScript file
with User | Dvips, then visualization with AsTeX PS : file
cmplx2e.tex
(inclusion of PostScript pictures) and l2e_pscm.tex (use of PostScript
fonts).
You can redo all these tests from Burgundy Editor, Emacs, MÚTeX or MicroEmacs, by
loading the files above from the directory ast\astex\demos \win. If you work under
Windows 9x/NT, you can perform these tests from assistant AsTEX (cf. user's manual
of AsTEX).
