- Verify that your machine (memory + hard disks) doesn't have a virus.
- If you downloaded the distribution by ftp, verify that the files
setup.bat,
setup.pif and setenv.exe have not been infected during or after the
transfer by Ftp 1 .
Deactivate all programs launched at starting time and restart your computer. In
particular, if you installed an antivirus that functions permanently, deactivate it
and start again your computer so that it is suppressed completely of the
memory. Otherwise, the installation risks not to function correctly : some
antiviruses (conceived badly or old or bogged) may detect incorrectly that some
files of the distribution are infected and block their installation without
warning2 .
