• Under Windows NTx (4.0/2000/XP), the installation program of the preceding version wrote ASTEXDIR incorrectly in the registry database.
• The installation program of the CD-ROM has been internationalized. The languages usable are French (default option) and English. The French and English manuals have been updated consequently.
• Translation into English of the buttons of the Assistant for all groups of toolbars for computer algebra. The English version has been updated consequently and some bugs have been corrected, that prevented some images to display correctly.
• Inclusion of the translation into French of the Reference Manual of Maxima, and addition of buttons in the toolbars Alg\Maxima and Alg\Xmaxima pointing towards the html monofile version and towards the dvi, ps and pdf versions adapted to printing and to displaying on screen.
• Inclusion of online help in French for Maxima. In the present state of Maxima, only one language at a time is authorized. To use the English version of the online help, it is necessary to install the CD-ROM on the hard disk (cf. sec. 6.7) and to copy the files maxima.info* od the sub-directory info\en into the sub-directory info of directory ROSETTA\- ast\alg\maxima-5.9\info for version 5.9.0, ROSETTA\ast\alg\maxima for version 5.5.
• Addition of sections Changement de langue (2.6) et Utiliser deux langues avec l'assistant (5.3) dans le manuel.
