The AsTEX Association (Association pour la diffusion de logiciels scientifiques liés
à TeX- association for the distribution of scientific software related to
TeX) is a non profit association registered under the french law of 1901
related to such non profit associations. It is a scientific association. Its
goal is to contribute to the development of scientific computing and to
make such computing freely available to everyone. Its more specific aims
are:
to promote the use of TeX as a language for scientists to exchange their
results via networks and all other such electronic means, independently
of the host computers.
to ease the use of TeX and scientific programmes in the public domain
operating on PCs by creating installation and configuration tools.
to create interfaces between TeX and other scientific programmes.
to write and publish the necessary manuals for the installation and
use of these programmes and their interfaces.
to disseminate the set of these programmes via floppy discs, CD-ROM,
anonymous FTP, or any other suited means.
to disseminate the set of these manuals in printed form and/or
electronic form.
