This filer makes it possible to launch all the applications of
AsTeX: the interfaces (MicroEmacs, TeXShell, Burgundy Editor, MéTeX)
visualization (icons AsTeX dvi, AsTeX dvi color or AsTeX PS) the
creation of 2D and 3D graphs, the creation and display of tables of TeX
fonts, programs to install and create formats for TeX and LaTeX, etc.
In this example, the edition, compilation and all the other
tasks are made starting from TeXShell. Visualization is made starting
from the icons AsTeX dvi or AsTeX PS, according to the type of figure
(bitmap or PostScript).
You can also use your favorite editor in the place of the
internal editor of TeXShell. In this example, the edition is made
with WinWord. TeXShell is then used like an improved instrument panel
to select the master and edited files, to define the personal
directories which you want to attach to your document (chapters,
figures), and to launch all the programs which you need (TeX, BibTeX,
MakeIndex, Dvips, TeXCad, spell checker etc).
