Each course of study includes 20 hours of class each week, which go to make up the semestral Units of Instruction (UI) that are cumulated; the courses develop a number of skills such as reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written production and spoken production. These skills are acquired by studying the French language, culture and civilisation.
Students may take a single semester and may obtain, if they so request, a certificate of coursework, personal progress and results when it ends. They may not earn the diploma, as this requires two semesters.
