The House for Science offers professional training on various subjects such as the brain, energy, computer science, mathematics, climate, bacterial flora, gender equality, arts and science... for teachers from kindergarten to Year 10 (14-15 year-olds).

  • By combining the expertise of our region's scientists and teachers willing to share their knowledge and that of our industrial partners, the House for Science in Centre-Val de Loire contributes to the evolution of science teaching practice in primary and secondary school.

  • The training courses jointly created by scientists and teachers enable the teachers in training at the House for Science to discover investigative approaches that they will be able to apply with their pupils, thus making the latter involved in their learning. Since 2014, more than 5,000 teachers were trained by the House for Science in Centre-Val de Loire, which represents more than 6,000 days of training. Of the 2,241 schools in the Orléans-Tours academy, the House for Science already trained teachers in more than 700 schools.

  • As part of our training courses, we bring our attendees as close as possible to research and/or industry sites thanks to many partnerships with laboratories and manufacturers.

Blaise Pascal and Sandy’s bag of crisps:  On a beautiful sunny morning, Sandy went hiking for the day. Her goal: reaching the top of the Puy-de-Dôme in time for lunch. After the effort, the comfort, and for Sandy, there is no good picnic without crisps. Once she was at the top, here is what her bag of crisps looked like.
