Polytech Orléans is linked to 7 research laboratoires, where teaching staff conduct reasearch activities :

•  GREMI (Groupe de Recherche sur l’Energétique des Milieux Ionisés): laboratory of plasma, energetics and applications
•  PRISME (laboratory Pluridisciplinaire de Recherche en Ingénierie des Systèmes, Mécanique et Energétique): multi-field research laboratory in systems and mechanical engineering
•  CRMD (Centre de Recherche sur la Matière Divisée): center of research on divided matter
•  ISTO (Institut des Sciences de la Terre d’Orléans): institute of earth science of Orléans
•  CEMHTI (Conditions Extrêmes et Matériaux: Haute Températures et Irradiation): extreme conditions ans materials: high temperature and irradiation
•  ICARE (Institut de combustion aérothermique réactivité et environnement): Institute for aerothermic combustivity, reactivity and surrounding
•  POLEN (laboratoire POuvoir, LEttres, Normes)

Students with an interest in research may carry out a training period in one of these laboratories, in which they may prepare and pass their viva in the framework of a governmental scheme or under joint supervision, or else carry out a postgraduate period.
