Affiliation to the national health insurance scheme for students

 

Orléans University is responsible for the affiliation to the national health insurance scheme for students and, where appropriate, the collection of the corresponding contribution when the students register.

Your affiliation to the national health insurance scheme for students depends on:

  • your age during the reference academic year, i.e., between 01/10/2012 and 30/09/2013
  • the professional situation of your parents
  • the diploma you are studying for: students registering for their first year in basic law are not considered to be students and, therefore, are not covered by the national health insurance scheme for students

Please refer to the table below to see whether you must be affiliated to the national health insurance scheme for students when you register.

Initially, affiliation to the national health insurance scheme for students requires you to select one of the two private insurers that are authorised to manage health/maternity insurance benefits for students as your payment centre.

You must select one in your registration file.

You can refer to the brochure presenting these two private insurance companies in your registration file, or wait until the day you register, when you will be able to obtain information from the stands present in each registration centres.

Irrespective of your situation, you must produce the following documents:

  • the registration card with your national health insurance number (received in May 2012, if you passed the Baccalaureate in the current year)
  • the original and a photocopy of your health insurance card (carte Vitale) or, where appropriate, your parent's card by which you are covered
  • and, if you are a scholarship student, your grant notification for the year 2012-2013
