Students in employment

Students in employment may be exonerated from affiliation with the national health insurance scheme for students upon presentation of:

  • an apprenticeship contract (apprentice students)
  • a fixed-term or open-ended contract of employment covering the entire reference academic year 01/10/2012 to 30/09/2013, provided that this contract is for at least 60 hours/month or 120 hours/term. Enclose the last three pay slips with the original contract, including for educational assistants and helpers.

Doctorate students may be exonerated from affiliation with the national health insurance scheme for students under the same conditions, if they have a contract of employment (ATER contract, a monitor's contract, a CIFRE contract or a CNRS contract) or a regional grant paid by Orléans University.

CAUTION:

If your fixed-term or open-ended contract of employment is interrupted during the year, you must inform your registration centre, which will immediately affiliate you to the national health insurance scheme for students and, where appropriate, demand payment of your contribution.

As soon as your contract of employment expires, you are no longer covered by any health insurance, because the scheme for students takes precedence over the maintenance of the scheme for employees. As soon as you receive your health insurance card (carte Vitale) from the payment centre of your choosing, you must return the old card to the national health insurance centre that issued it.

Even if the corresponding certificate states that you are covered until 2012, this document is no longer valid.

These conditions also apply to Doctorate students who re-register after benefiting from funding for 3 years (contract of employment or regional grant). Their affiliation to the scheme for students is compulsory.
