The Shared Unit "Research Europe" (Europe Recherche) is an original structure created in 2007 by the University of Orléans, the University François-Rabelais in Tours, the CNRS in the Centre Val de Loire region, and backed by the Centre-Val de Loire region.

It aims to promote the emergence of European projects thanks to CNRS and university researchers within the framework of the new Horizon 2020 EU Research and Innovation programme, which came into effect on 1 January 2014 and followed the 7th FP (2007 to 2013).

Its main tasks are:

  • Information monitoring and distribution about the Horizon 2020 programme;
  • Detecting and submitting financing opportunities;
  • Training courses and practical workshops on how to set up a European project;
  • Support for project set up.

The "Research Europe" Shared Unit created an Observatory that summarises the participation in European projects of the Universities of Orléans and Tours as well as the CNRS in the Centre Val de Loire region from 2007 to 2013.
