The goals of the Equality & Diversity Task Force
The University of Orléans is committed to raising awareness on gender equality, particularly by relying on the principles of the « Pour l'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes dans les établissements supérieurs et de recherche » [For gender equality in Higher Education and Research] charter adopted by the Conférence des Présidents d'Université (Conference of University Presidents), the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation (Ministry of Higher Education) and the Secrétariat d'État chargé de l’Égalité entre les femmes et les hommes et de la lutte contre les discriminations (Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination State Secretary).
In this regard, our national policies and task forces' objectives are defined by the laws governing more specifically Higher Education and Research (Sauvadet 2012 law n° 2012-347, law on Higher Education and Research of 22 July 2013) and the law on real gender equality of 4 August 2014.
The main focuses of action of the Equality & Diversity Task Force are:
- To promote a culture and policy of equality for all, and in particular when it comes to monitoring and managing the careers of the university's staff;
- To promote diversity in educational pathways and occupations;
- To fight against gender stereotypes and violence against women.
