The University Department of General Preventive Medicine and Promotion of Health (SUMPPS)

The SUMPPS is in charge of the consultation of general preventive medicine provided to students entering in higher education , which is carried out in compliance with medical confidentiality .

  • It has two parts, one with a nurse and the other with a medical doctor , during which an update will be made about your medical history , your risk factors and your vaccinations , before a global physical examination by the medical doctor . Some additional tests may be performed on site if deemed necessary ( electrocardiogram , audiometry of screening , urine dipstick test for diabetes ) .
  • Arrangement of studies and examinations can be implemented on medical advice , due to long term illness or permanent disability or temporary disability .

No specific medical information will be indicated in the medical certificate and arrangement medical certificate to the Gateway Handicap ( unless necessary and on your agreement ) .

  • Medical counseling with a Nurse to support your health and Wellness,  Nurses listen to you, advise you and lead you towards health professionals, according to your need.
  • Possible consultation with a psychologist ( Monday , Tuesday , Wednesday ) for punctual talk or even regular talk if necessary , in compliance with the confidentiality of a medical department .
  • Possible consultation with a dietician ( Friday morning ) , with nutrition workshops in student residences surroundings . 
  • Possible consultation of a social worker , with implementation if necessary of financial and practical aids ( scholarship , housing ... ).
  • The others sites
    • Bourges : Three half-day of consultation by a medical doctor ( Monday full day , Tuesday morning ) , and an almost permanent presence of a nurse .
    • Chartres : 
      • Possible consultations by a medical doctor and a nurse , only about preventive medicine and for students in first year of university .
      • Possible consultations with a social worker (from CROUS), only once per month, in the university residence Merleau-Ponty. Take an appointment by phone on 02 38 24 27 22
    • Issoudun  et Châteauroux  Possible consultation with a social worker, only punctually. Take an appointment by phone on 02 38 24 27 10.

For the sites of Chartres, Issoudunand Châteauroux and the ESPE : 

Arrangement of studies and examinations can be implemented on medical advice , due to long term illness or permanent disability or temporary disability .
No specific medical information will be indicated in the medical certificate and arrangement medical certificate to the Gateway Handicap ( unless necessary and on your agreement ) .

Don't forget, after your medical certificate for arrangement, obtained from medical doctor, to join the Handicap Office.
