Column Test for Reversed phase Liquid Chromatography (RP-LC)

This test, performed by Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) describes three main properties of C18 stationary phases (hydrophobicity; polar surface activity and shape selectivity), and the classification map allowing the easy phases comparison. Varied chromatograms of drugs are shown to illustrate the classification relevance.

The first part describe the test, explain how use the classification map, and reports the numerous relationships between these properties and physico-chemical characteristics of stationary phases (INTRODUCTION updated 17/01/2011 ).

The second part describe the classification map for polar embedded and polar endcapped phases, devoted for the analyses of polar(basic) compounds, or for an use in rich water mobile phases in RPLC (C18 POLAR PHASE CLASSIFICATION updated 17/01/2011).

The third part compares the location of columns by their name, the columns are located in varied groups in which the phase properties are close. It allows to select identical phases or very different ones (BY NAME updated 17/01/2011 ).

The fourth part presents the columns by manufacturers, allowing to study the specificity of each ones, or the diversity of phases proposed by brands (BY MANUFACTURER updated 17/01/2011 ).
