Chartres University Institute of Technology (IUT de Chartres) is part of Orléans University.
It is part of the scheme License-Master-Doctorate (LMD) and provides higher education in initial training, continuing education or vocational training.

University Institute of Technology diplomas: :
The training is organized full-time in four semesters. It welcomes students with a French Baccalauréat, or the equivalent of an "A Levels" (general, technical, professional) or an equivalent High school diploma.
Three specialties are offered by the three departments:
Two Vocational Bachelor's Degrees (Licences Professionnelles) which welcome graduates with a DUT, BTS or an equivalent Two Year University Diploma.

Attendance to all courses is compulsory.
The courses consist of lectures, courses (TD) and practical lessons (TP) associated with projects and work placements in companies. A personal and professional project will allow the student to get a clear picture of the speciality and choose the best way to access the professional world.
The theoretical and practical lessons are well balanced. They are taught by Professors, secondary teachers, professionals operating in different sectors of industry.
The languages studied in Chartres are English, German and Spanish.

Assessment is carried out continuously with oral or written tests as well as with written assignments and reports.
TheTwo Year University Diploma in Technology (DUT) is issued by the President of the University on a proposal by a jury after validation of the four semesters.
Given the specificity of the training, it is virtually impossible for students to be employed while they are studying.
