Thematic Meeting of the French Economic Association (AFSE) « Economic Policy in the Aftermath of Financial Crisis » Université d’Orléans, June 3-4 2010 This thematic meeting, co-organized by AFSE (Association Française de Science Economique) and Laboratoire d'Economie d'Orléans (LEO), will take place at the University of Orléans, June 3-4 2010. It is commonly admitted that the on-going crisis takes its roots in a number of dysfunctions, either microeconomic or macroeconomic : financial regulation failures, unbalanced capital and trade flows in international markets, distributional conflicts between production factors and within wage earners, dwindling natural resources, etc. A satisfactory management of the current crisis calls therefore for a variety of policy responses including traditional Keynesian policies but also more innovative policies for a crisis that goes beyond a temporary demand shock around an unchanged long-term trend. This meeting aims at reviewing such policy responses to a crisis which deals with business cycles and structural issues. Here is a suggested list of themes that the meeting may cover : - Fiscal policy and public debt sustainability - Monetary policy : between deflationary risks and inflationary pressures - Rebuilding financial regulation - The future of the international monetary system - What to expect from structural policies ? - International coordination of economic policies : scope, methods and effects - A new growth regime ? Completed papers in English or French and an abstract may be submitted electronically from the 4th of January 2010 to the 14th of March 2010 in a pdf or doc format. Papers submitted under any other format and outside the web server will be disregarded. The selection committee will convey the final decision to the authors by email in mid-April 2010.
