The
classes at the Institute of French language are essentially held in the
Humanities and Social Sciences
Research and Training Unit premises (UFR Lettres,Langues et Sciences
Humaines), but can also take place in other buildings situated on the
campus.The students benefit from the various University facilities,
including
the multimedia lab and the university libraries, which will facilitate
their personal work, along with the athletic facilities and university
restaurants, which will make their studies at Orléans more
agreeable.
Presentation
The Institute of French language
is a common faculty established in July 2007 that
is housed in the HSS UFR premises on the ground floor (garden level).
Its mission is to participate and cooperate in the international policy
of the university of Orleans by, in particular, providing French as a
Foreign Language (FFL) courses to a foreign non-francophone or
allophone public.
Four tenured teachers, one teacher under contract and approximately
fifteen contingent teachers make up the teaching staff at the Institute
of French language (Office
26-1).
Activities at the Institute of French language are
divided into four main sectors.
1- Year and Semester courses
a) Yearly

3- Intensive courses,
Summer programme
Four
seminars are organised each year with five partner universities from
Japan (Kanazawa, Toyama, Tenri, Nanzan and Aichi universities). Each
seminar lasts between two to five weeks.
In
June and July, the Institute of French language also offers intensive
courses. The Summer programme includes 75 hours French classes as well
as various cultural activities.

4- Language support courses
by
group levels are
provided free of charge by the Institute of French Language to foreign
students who are registered at the University of Orleans (ERASMUS and
exchange students, PhD and post-doc students, LAME Master’s
students).
