This workshop is the eleventh in the series , the last four having been in Boston (USA, 1993), Val d'Ajol (France, 1994), Sitges (Spain, 1995), and Herrsching (Germany, 1996). As its predecessors , UNIF'97 is meant to be an opportunity to meet old and new colleagues, to present recent (or even unfinished) work, and to discuss new ideas and trends related to unification and all its extensions, especially in the domain of constraints solving. It is also a good opportunity for researchers working in related areas to get an overview of the current state of the art in the field.

UNIF'97 is organized by Siva Anantharaman, Pierre Rety and Gilles Richard, LIFO, University of Orléans (France). Orléans is a historical town in France, well situated in the heart of the famous Loire Valley, with easy access by train or car (approx. 1 hour from Paris, some 120 kms to the south-west). The dates for UNIF'97 have been so chosen that :

The following is a non-exclusive list of topics on which contributions to UNIF'97 are invited :

Typed Unification General E-unification and Calculi
Narrowing Higher-Order Unification
