Practical Information

Dates : Monday July 7 & Tuesday July 8, 2008.

Place : Université d'Orléans, Faculté des Sciences, Bâtiment de Mathématiques.

Lodging : University housing (< 20 Euros per night) is available for stays of one week at least. Hotels must be used for shorter stays (1 star hotel cost around 40 Euros per night, 2 stars hotels 60-70 Euros). Here is a list of some partner hotels downtown.

Financial support : Limited financial support is provided by the Laboratory MAPMO. It will be devoted to bus transportation from Orléans to Orsay on Wednesday morning July 9, and to lodging expenses of junior participants.

Registration : Please contact Anne Liger and specify if

  • you need her assistance to reserve a room in Orléans (type of lodging, dates of arrival and departure),
  • you need bus transportation from Orléans to Orsay on Wednesday (early) morning July 9,
  • you propose a talk (title, abstract),
  • you apply for financial support,
  • you need a letter of invitation.

    How to reach us ?

  • Location : Orléans is a middle-sized town in the Loire Valley, 100 kilometers South of Paris. The university campus is located South of Orléans at La Source. Here you may find information to reach the university and a campus map.
  • Access by car from Paris : Take Highway A10 or Route N20.
  • Trains from Paris to Orléans : Trains leave hourly from the railroad station Gare d'Austerlitz in Paris. The trip lasts one hour or so. All trains stop at the station Les Aubrais (Orléans North). Some proceed to the central station Orléans. Otherwise there is a shuttle connection. Here is a train schedule for Sunday July 6. Look at the website SNCF-TER-Centre for other days.
  • Tramway in Orléans : The tramway connects both railroad stations with the university campus, passing through the city of Orléans. There is a shuttle every 5-10 minutes and the trip lasts 30 minutes or so. The mathematics buildings is 100 meters away from the stop Université - Parc Floral.
  • From Charles de Gaulle airports to Paris downtown. There are two possibilities :
    Take an Air France bus or RER B to Paris downtown.
  • From Orly airport to Paris downtown. There are several possibilities :
    Take an Air France bus or Orlybus
    or a shuttle bus to Pont de Rungis - Aéroport d'Orly and next RER C to Paris downtown
    or OrlyVal to Anthony and next RER B to Paris downtown.
