Summer program

It is an enriching four-week session of French language learning in July. The fisrt week of the program takes place on the university campus and the 3 other weeks in the historical building Hôtel Dupanloup in town center (closed to the Cathedral).


Assessment test at the beginning of the program and distribution of the participants into 4 level groups (maximum 10 participants per group) :

  • Basic level (A1) Beginners allowed
  • Intermediate (A2/B1)
  • Advanced (B1/B2)
  • Fluent (B2/C1)

75 hours of courses : speaking and understanding French, reading and writting French, phonetics, grammar, literary texts and history.

+ Workshops : French songs, theatre, board games...


In addition with the courses, the IDF is offering several cultural activities /

  • discovery of the Old Orleans city, its museums and its gardens,
  • day trip to the Loire Valley Castles (Chambord, Blois...),
  • sport activity (bowling, canopee tour at l'île Charlemagne ...)

On choice :

  • studio in a hall of residence (residence Campo Santo downtown)
  • Room in a French host family selected by the Institute

Information Summer program 2018

Dates : from 22nd June to 20th July 2018

  • 22nd June 2018 : welcoming day for students who will be accommodated in a host family or in a hall of residence
  • 25th June 2018 : courses start
  • 19th July 2018 : courses end and farewell party
  • 20th July 2018 : inventory of fixtures and departure

Summer program tariff (without accommodation) : 1 000 euros pour 4 weeks (200 euros non refundable should be paid as deposit at registration and the outstanding balance before the end of May).

Payment : by bank transfer.
