Vaccination

The vaccination booster against Covid-19 is open to all adults (considered vulnerable or not). The booster is advised from 6 months after your last contact with the virus (whether via the vaccine or a disease). To get it, you can make an appointment in a pharmacy that offers it.

You Are a Student:

You have a question about your health situation

I have symptoms, and/or I am waiting for the results of my test:

From 1 February 2023, people tested positive for Covid-19 do not need to isolate themselves systematically.

However, as with any acute respiratory infection illness, it is still strongly recommended that Covid-19 positive persons and persons who have been exposed to a contagious person should:

From 31 January 2023; the end of the “Contact Covid” service implies the end of the derogatory system for sick leaves related to Covid-19. Only the doctor will be able to prescribe a sick leave, if the patient's health condition does not allow him/her to work.

The Assurance Maladie (public health insurance fund) does not contact people who were tested positive to Covid-19 nor their contact cases anymore within the scope of contact tracing.

The result of my Covid test is positive:

If you are not physically able to attend your courses, consult a doctor to obtain a medical certificate to justify your class exemption.

If you can attend you courses, please respect the protective measures: wear a mask when you come to class and when you take public transports, wash your hands regularly, sneeze and cough in your elbow or in a single-use tissue, and ventilate enclosed spaces regularly.

Among your classmates or your teachers, there can be vulnerable people! Think of protecting them.

If you have any specific medical question, you can contact one of our doctors via medecin-covid19-etudiant@univ-orleans.fr. Please state you request clearly in the subject line of your email.

Caution: since our health service is highly requested, we will give priority to urgent questions. Please make sure that no section below nor any downloadable national form on this page can answer your question.

I am a contact case of a tested-positive person

You have been in contact with a person who was tested positive to Covid-19. The test at D+2 is no longer required, neither is isolation.

It is however strongly recommended to:

  • Respect protective measures;
  • Avoid contact with vulnerable people;
  • Make a screening test.

If your test is positive:

  • In the case of a positive self-test: confirm the result immediately via a RT-PCR test;
  • In the case of an antigen or RT-PCR positive test: see the “The result of my Covid test is positive” section.

If your test is negative, please follow protective measures.

Wearing a mask

Wearing a surgical mask is no longer mandatory within premises open to the public, nor within sea transport, inland navigation, land transport and air transport.

The epidemic resumption context requires however to be careful for everyone, for oneself as well as the others.

Wearing a mask is still recommended:

  • In enclosed spaces subject to overcrowding and in public transport (subway, train, bus, plane…);
  • During big gatherings, including outdoors, especially for vulnerable people due to their age or their illnesses;
  • In the presence of elderly persons, persons suffering from an immunodeficiency or from chronic illnesses;
  • For vulnerable people (elderly persons or immunocompromised persons…);
  • In health institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes;
  • In case of symptoms.

The surgical mask is still mandatory when coming to the University Health Service.
