The University of Orléans congratulates its mixed volleyball and soccer teams for their brilliant results during the France IUT Championships that took place on 9 and 10 March.
First of all, huge congratulations to the mixed volleyball team led by Dmytro Tsybulskyi, ''Dima'', Ukrainian student and technical leader of the Club de Bourges male team which should go up in national at the end of the season.
The team sailed through the tournament with 9 victories in 9 games and won the title of French IUT 2022 champion!
Contrary to the volleyball team, the male soccer team of Bourges had to fight strongly to get the title of French champion 2022!
Indeed, the team led by Lucas Deslandes and composed of regional and national players, had to go to the penalty shoot-out in the semi-final against La Rochelle where they qualified for the final thanks to two saves by the goalkeeper.
Bourges Bourges then met again in the final the team of Quimper, team against which the players of Bourges had lost 5/0 during the previous tournament. This time, the match was more fiercely contested and ended on a draw 1/1. The penalty shootout decided the winner and, again thanks to a very good performance of the goalkeeper, the team of Bourges was crowned French champion of IUTs 2022!
