Let’s look back on a bubbling cultural week!
The Bouillon did brilliantly as it welcomed last week no fewer than 4 successive cultural events. A rich week, both in the diversity of programmed events an in the plurality of the structures carrying these cultural projects!
Monday 6 March, scientific culture was in the spotlight with the reception of the local finals of the “Ma thèse en 180 secondes” (“My thesis in 180 seconds”) contest, which gave pride of place to the quality and diversity of the research work of our doctorate students from Orléans, but also to their rhetoric abilities. This contest was also broadcast on the University of Orléans’ YouTube channel.
The next day was dedicated to the fight for women’s rights with the screening of the movie Suffragette directed by Sarah Gavron, followed by a debate organised by the student associations Just’ice and FEM, in partnership with the Equality/Diversity mission of the University of Orléans.
Wednesday 8 March was, for its part, dedicated to the reception of a conference organised by the student association GCOUDE around the theme “Architecture and Urbanism: for a Viable and Habitable Planet”.
This event offered our students the opportunity to meet and discuss with architect and urbanist Phillipe Madec, a pioneer in eco-responsibility, and a UN expert for the preparation of the HABITAT III summit. This event was also broadcast live on YouTube thanks to our collaboration with the Learning Lab.
Finally, on Thursday evening, a great concert evening dedicated to reggae delighted the audience of Orléans. The concert room sold out for the reception of Marcus Gad & Tribe from New Caledonia and from the band Kaleïd from Tours. A festive evening that was made possible also thanks to the help from the ELSA association, which managed the Bouillon bar during the whole concert.
Nearly 400 spectators in total entered the Bouillon in less than a week, more than half of them being students. The cultural service thus confirms its influence not only on the Orléans campus, but also on remote sites with the reception of 40 students from the Indre IUT who came to see the Marcus Gad concert thanks to the “student mobility” budget, provided by the University of Orléans within the framework of the CVEC.
Next events coming the Bouillon: the reception of an escape game oragnised by IAE students from 20 to 24 March, and the protest play Rebota rebota y en tu cara explota, directed by Catalan artists Agnès Mateus and Quim Tarrida, on 22 and 23 March, in co-production with the CDNO.
