The "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" contest lets the doctorate students explain their research in simple words for the general public. They only have three minutes, not a second more, to explain their thesis! It is a unique opportunity for them to enhance their communication skills and to share their research in a public forum.
Ma thèse en 180 secondes is an exercise in brevity and popularisation that requires careful preparations, when it comes to the speech but also the way you carry yourself, as well as the visual on PowerPoint. To make it easier, you can take advantage of several half-days of training as a part of the 'E6 Préparation au concours Ma thèse en 180 secondes' course, as well as a day to rehearse your presentation.
It's not too late to register on ADUM. Check the video testimonials from the people who participated in 2017 to get an overview of this training course.
So if you are interested in participating in the MT180 adventure and maybe represent our University, or even France for the international finals, you can register! The deadline is 8 February 2019 in order to optimise your individual coaching and participate in the training courses offered by the University.
But you can still participate in MT180 by registering until the day before the regional finals that will happen on March 22 in Orléans.
To be a participant, the candidates must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:
• being enrolled in a doctorate programme for the academic year 2018-2019 or having had your thesis viva voce in 2017-2018
• getting your presentation approved by your thesis directors and supervisors
• a sufficiently advanced doctoral research project
• speaking French
