09: 05– 10:05: KEYNOTE: Building Scientific Knowledge Graphs from Scholarly Data Davide Buscaldi, Associate Professor, LIPN, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord

ABSTRACT. Scientific Knowledge Graphs are knowledge graphs that represent in a formal way the content of scientific texts such as academic papers and other kinds of raw scholarly data. In this talk, I will present some of the challenges that arise when analysing academic papers to extract knowledge from them, from a Natural Language Processing perspective, and the results that have been achieved by an international collaboration between the LIPN (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord), the Knowledge Media Institute (The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK) and the University of Cagliari (Italy). This ongoing collaboration has produced an open Knowledge Graph in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, the AIKG: https://scholkg.kmi.open.ac.uk/

Davide Buscaldi is associate professor at LIPN, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord & Part-time lecturer, École Polytechnique. He carries out his research work in the RCLN group (Representation of Knowledge and Natural Language) at LIPN (Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris Nord), Université Sorbonne Paris Nord.
