The research conducted at GREMI focuses on physical chemistry, optimization and applications of plasma and laser processes. Over the years, the laboratory has adapted its experimental resources and skills to respond effectively to societal issues raised in calls for projects, while retaining its own identity. In this way, two approaches have been developed in parallel: one involving the design, study and optimization of plasma sources with a view to their application, and the other using plasma and laser processes to develop materials that are themselves intended for application.
These 2 approaches share a wealth of expertise in processes, plasma and laser diagnostics, simulation and modeling. This know-how, which provides the basis for GREMI's research, is exploited both to advance the state of knowledge on fundamental aspects and to remove technological barriers leading to new applications.
