The Training’s Objectives

The Marketing specialisation of the bachelor’s degree in Economics and management aims at developing basic skills in marketing as well as cross-disciplinary skills in management.

On the one hand, this specialisation allows students to obtain knowledge related to several fields of the marketing function: market studies, distribution and merchandising, international marketing, ethical marketing law… On the other hand, it helps to strengthen the training in organisation management: project management, information systems, data analysis, corporate law, organisational theory… are also on the programme!

In the view of evolving towards cross-disciplinary functions, the marketing specialisation of the bachelor’s degree in economics and management trains students who are able to understand the company as a whole.

Internship

A mandatory internship of minimum 8 weeks must be carried out at the end of the year. It helps the students to professionalize their course and to broaden their experience both personally and professionally. The internship can be carried out in France or abroad within a market organisation or another type of structure: company, administration, association…

During the internship, a mission related to the marketing specialisation and to the student’s professional project must be carried out. The internship enables students to put into practice, improve and strengthen their acquired knowledge, to validate their professional project and to customize their training course. It is a true springboard for future professional integration. As a teaching unit, the internship is a fully-fledged part of the diploma, and the bachelor’s degree in Marketing cannot be issued if the student has not validated his or her internship.

Continuation of Studies

After the degree, students are encouraged to pursue their studies with a master’s degree. They have the opportunity to integrate one of the IAE Orléans’ master’s, in particular:

Outside the University of Orléans, they can join one of the master’s degrees offered by the IAE network or by the universities’ management departments. They also have the possibility to join training courses offered by business schools.

Educational Approach

Built and animated by teachers, teacher-researchers and expert practitioners, the marketing specialisation answers the academic requirements of a bachelor’s degree and tries to satisfy the expectations of the job market. In addition to the knowledge inherent in the basic concepts and the knowledge related to the mastery of technical aspects, we are committed to developing the social skills of our students. With the support of educational methods, we encourage teamwork, the spirit of initiative, the sense of responsibilities or even rigor. This course offers practical and theoretical training that facilitates professional integration and the pursuit of studies with a master's degree. An opening is possible within the framework of European or international exchange programs offered by the University of Orléans.

Access Conditions

The 3rd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management, specialisation in Accounting, Control and Finance is accessible to all students with a BAC + 2 level holders of 120 credits (2nd year of AES, 2nd year of Economics, BUT GEA, BUT TC…).

IAE Score

The “IAE-Message Score” national test helps measuring the applicants’ skills in 4 fundamental fields for future managers: general knowledge, knowledge in economics and management, written and oral expression and comprehension in French, logical and digital reasoning, written and oral expression and comprehension in English. Like other tests of self-positioning in management, it is an assessment element of the skills of a student who wishes to enroll in a university management training. The IAE-Message score website summarizes all the terms and conditions of this national test. Several exam sessions are organised each year throughout France and abroad.
