The Training’s Objectives

The Master’s Degree in Marketing, Sale specialisation in Event and Digital Communication meets the stakes of digital transformation by taking into account the new occupations in marketing linked to digital technology, and by integrating this dimension in the management of events projects. Students are thus trained to the tools of digital communication to respond to emerging activities (social media manager, e-business manager, video content manager, digital project manager) but also to the entire management of physical or digital events.

This Master’s Degree therefore offers a double professional specialisation (digital communication/events communication) with a double sector entryway if they so wish (sports and/or culture).

Corporate events, professional fairs, conferences, sports events, festivals and concerts, exhibitions, fashion shows… are all activities included in the events sector. Whether it deals with internal communication (for collaborators, managers…), professional communication (for clients, institutional partners, shareholders…) or a public announcement (for consumers or citizens), the objective remains constant: to provide participants with an unforgettable, interactive, authentic or even unusual experience.

Although creativity remains fundamental, new technologies are causing economic and social changes that event professionals must integrate within their strategies. Therefore, the implementation of digital form a major challenge to respond to the evolution of uses and to the expectations of participants who now look for the best mix between real and virtual. The aim is thus to take up the challenge of innovation and creativity in order to offer differentiating events. Adapting to these priorities means mobilizing new skills, in particular those related to digital technologies, data, designing and experiential.

Real growth levers, events are now an essential tool in the strategy of brands, companies and institutions. Following a specialised training in Events and Digital Communication therefore offers a wide range of professional opportunities, but also speeds up careers in an innovative, creative and dynamic sector. Created in 1999, the CED Master’s degree with a focus on Sports and Culture responds to these stakes by training operational, mobile and adaptable managers, who can manage event projects entirely and design communication tools in line with their marketing strategy. This master’s degree provides a double skill since it also takes into account the new marketing professions by training students to the tools of digital communication in order to enable them to respond to emerging activities. Thus, the cross-disciplinary skills and knowledge acquired will help students answer the needs of sports and cultural organisations (both private and public) and companies using sports and culture as a medium of communication and brand image.

On top of theoretical courses, we give a special interest to methodological training through professional situations (organisation of events, serious games, digital and audio-visual projects, case studies…). Furthermore, the training’s professionalization is strengthened by the intervention of many external consultants who pass on their expertise to the students, and at the same time who offer them an opportunity to open to external ideas (Orange, French Tennis Federation, Crédit Agricole, Buzznative, Orléans City Council, Bros Communication, La Parisienne, L’Astrolabe, Ikea...).

Work-study

Over 2 years, this master’s degree is available both in a work-study programme and in a continuing education programme.

Work-study (with an average rhythm of 3 weeks in the company and 1 week at the IAE) allows students to prepare in a concrete way their entrance on the job market and forms a true factor of professional pre-integration.

Careers

The CED Master’s degree with a focus on Sports and Culture enables students to integrate activity sectors where the sports-business or culture-business interface is everywhere as well as those where digital communication is strategic, in particular: sports equipment suppliers, cultural or sports events agencies, marketing and communication consultancy companies, companies distributing sports equipment or cultural products, federations and major sports clubs, companies that integrate event and digital communication into their marketing strategy, service and leisure companies, the "Communication, Sponsoring, Events" departments of various media, local authorities and their "satellites", tourism and leisure organisations, publishing houses, the majors (television, cinema, press, music, video games, etc.), theatres and museums, cultural organisations and associations, and in a cross-functional way, all structures that use digital communication.
