The Training’s Objectives

The MESC2A specialisation of the Master's Degree in Life Sciences is for students with a scientific formal education in the following fields: biotechnologies, biology, physiology, genetics, biochemistry, chemistry and, more generally, in the fields related to life sciences. It aims at obtaining a complementary skill in management to facilitate professional integration and/or the future career development; it allows graduates to apply to positions needing both scientific expertise and general knowledge of management tools in companies.

The Master’s first year is composed of joint courses with the Biotechnology, Molecular and Cellular Biology specialisation, whereas the second year takes place entirely at the College of Law, Economics and Management, in the IAE (Business Administration Institute) of the University of Orléans. The second year of the MESC2A Master’s degree will take place at the IAE in apprenticeship from the beginning of the academic year 2022.

Careers

Activity sectors: R&D and/or production in technological industries related to biology, such as food processing industries, pharmaceutical industries, cosmetics industries, biomedical industries, biotechnological industries, plant or animal production industries, consultancies, regulatory monitoring, project management or organisational consultancy (particularly for the implementation of quality standards), large retailers (management).

Professions: industrial quality management and engineering, quality management consulting, customer technical assistance and support, research and development, HSE (environment, health and safety) management and engineering, sales force, key account and corporate commercial relations, technical-commercial relations, department management in large retailers, product management and management in general.

Pre-requisites

Access in first year (M1):

Access to the first year is selective. It is for applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology-Biochemistry-Biotechnology, Cellular Biology and Physiology or Biology and Chemistry of Plants.
