From 25 may to 10 June 2023, France puts the spotlight on Latin America and the Caribbean with the 10th edition of the Latin America and Caribbean Weeks (SALC). An opportunity to celebrate the bonds of friendship and the shared interests between our two regions, but also to discover the wealth and diversity of this subcontinent around a wide range of cultural, scientific, political, economic or simply festive events.
Within this framework, the International Relations Department of the University of Orléans organises the 4 following events:
- From 2 to 26 May at the University Library of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences, the photo exhibition “Jamaican Vibrations”
- On 26 May, a cooking workshop with students of the UO from Latin America and the Caribbean
- On 26 May between 5:30pm and 6:30pm at the Hôtel Dupanloup, a round table on “Latin America and the Caribbean at the University of Orléans: Meeting of Minds in the Centre-Val de Loire region” and between 6:45pm and 8:30pm “The Influence of the Island Cultures in the Caribbean”
- On 6 June, at the Bouillon (the University’s cultural centre), screening of the documentary “Le souffle du reggae”, followed by an exchange with its co-screenwriter.
