1922-2022: Ireland in the Concert of Nations
On 18 and 19 March 2022, the SOFEIR (French Society of Irish Studies) congress was held.
This congress, organised by Karin Fisher, Elodie Gallet, Chloé Lacoste, Thierry Robin and the REMELICE laboratory, took place at the College of Humanities, languages and Social Sciences and at the Hôtel Dupanloup.
2022 marks the centenary of the creation of the Irish Free State. The SOFEIR wanted to mark this 100th birthday by questioning the place of Ireland, island, State and society(ies), in the international context throughout the years since its partition and in a contemporary perspective.
This congress was also marked by the visit of Frank Feighan, Minister of State at the Department of Health, responsible for public health, well-being and the national drugs strategy.
