If you feel like a cyclist at heart, the University gives you the chance to borrow an urban bike (see photo) with all its accessories: lock, luggage rack, safety arm, and reflectors.
Bikes can be borrowed starting in September, either for one semester or for the full academic year, depending on availability. Loans are arranged on Thursdays between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. Each student will receive an appointment by email.
This service is open to all students enrolled at the University of Orléans and is funded through the CVEC contribution.

How to Borrow a Bike at UO?
1° Fill out the form below, making sure to select two possible time slots for bike collection.
2° Come at the confirmed time slot (sent by email) with the following documents:
- Copy of your civil liability insurance
- Your student card
Without these documents, the bike cannot be handed over!
The handover process, including accessories, takes 10–20 minutes: a reminder of your commitments and the main conditions of use, a quick bike check to ensure everything is working properly, and the signing of the loan contract in two copies (pre-filled and printed by the University).
Pick-up/return location: next to the Sciences lecture halls, across from the tram stop (in front of the red door with the “Bike Repairs” poster).
If you decide not to borrow a bike or are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please inform the University immediately at campusavelo@univ-orleans.fr. Otherwise, your reservation will not be maintained.
Already have your own bike? No problem! The University regularly organizes free bike repair workshops.
When you’re ready to return your borrowed bike, please send an email to campusavelo@univ-orleans.fr to schedule a return appointment (please contact us two weeks in advance of your desired date).
