In the same place several episodes of the life of the Roman antiquity heroine Virginia’s are featured. The scenes can be read from left to right, like a comic book, and the characters can be identified thanks to the colour of their clothes.
According to the story of the Roman historian Titus Livius, the Roman magistrate Appius Claudius, rejected by Virginia to whom he was enamoured, succeeded in making her a slave and gave her to one of his freed slaves. Her father Virginius chose to stab her to save her from this dishonour.
