Internship abroad

The 2 or 4 week internship, a key moment in the construction of your professional identity.

The INSPÉ Center Val de Loire encourages the international mobility of its students. To this end, it offers internships and study stays abroad. These programs are run in collaboration with the training departments of partner universities, whose students we also receive on a reciprocal basis.

Information meetings are organized in the training centers at the start of the academic year to explain the possibilities of going abroad to students.

The internship abroad, a key stage in the development of your professional identity

Lasting 2 or 4 weeks, the internship takes the place of an accompanied practice placement, and gives rise to an assessment of skills based on the model used in France. It enables students to enrich their knowledge of pedagogical approaches to the learning of a modern language, and to engage in comparative reflection on the didactics of other disciplines and educational systems.

The INSPE has opted for linguistic plurality, and offers practical experience in English-, Spanish-, German- and other-speaking countries where teaching French as a foreign language is possible. Several destinations are available: England, Austria, Belgium, Scotland, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland...

When can I do this internship abroad?

• MEEF for primary education:
  • 4 weeks
    • M1: January 27 to February 21, 2025
    • M2 SOPA (introductory internship): January 27 to February 21, 2025 or February 10 to March 07, 2025 or the introductory internship dates set by the training center.
  • 2 weeks
    • M2 students on a work-study basis or M2 SOPA: February 10 to 21, 2025 or April 7 to 18, 2025 - provided you do not have classes during one of the 2 weeks.

• MEEF for secondary education:
  • 2 weeks
    • M1: January 27 to February 07, 2025 or March 24 to April 04, 2025
    • M2 students on a work-study basis or M2 SOPA: February 10 to 21, 2025 or April 7 to 18, 2025 - provided that you do not have classes during one of the 2 weeks.

* Flexible internship dates abroad for M2 SOPA students, depending on their timetable.

What financial assistance is available for international mobility?

To support students in their desire to carry out an internship abroad, the University of Orléans, Centre region and INSPÉ Centre Val de Loire can offer international mobility grants subject to available funds. The amount of these grants does not cover all the costs incurred abroad, but it does help students to embark on this experience.

• Mobicentre grant from the Centre Val de Loire Region: For internships of at least 4 weeks and for students under 25 years of age.
   
• INSPÉ Centre Val de Loire grant: For all internships abroad by INSPÉ Centre Val de Loire students.
   

How to apply?

Students must obligatorily apply online via the University of Orleans mobility portal.

Their application must include:

• A resume in English,
• A cover letter in English (one letter per wish),
• Proof of language proficiency: language certification (CLES, TOEFL, etc.) / a Bachelor's degree course / an opinion from a language teacher,
• A prior request for an internship abroad
• A photo.
