In general, health care costs are well covered by the French health care system. The system is called ‘La sécurité sociale’ (or commonly ‘la Sécu’).
It is compulsory for stays longer than 3 months, unless there is an agreement between France and your country of residence, as is the case for EU Member States, Switzerland and Quebec.
- For students from the European Economic Area, please ensure that you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
