My research focuses on biological invasions (specifically xylophagous insects of European concern), with particular emphasis on the characterization of forest entomofauna in the context of global change: taxonomy and molecular phylogeny (development of molecular markers for biomonitoring), population genetic of invasive insects (Cerambycide and Scolytide) or vector of invasive species (Monochamus galloprovincialis European vector of the Pine Wood Nematode). A new research area, in collaboration with two other teams in the laboratory, focuses on the response of insects to climate change (epigenetic markers - APR-IA HOLOSTRESS, 2024-26, head V. Foray, IRBI).
I dedicate a significant part of my work to national collaborations (e.g. expert work for ANSES, member of the Inter-Nematode network) and international partnerships (e.g. involvement in European projects, member of the international associated laboratory LIA IFOPE – Invasive Forest Pests in Eurasia, in collaboration with the Beijing Forestry University, China).
I have been teaching various subjects in evolutionary biology at both undergraduate and graduate levels at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Orléans since 1997. I served for 15 years as academic coordinator for the BOPE track (Biology of Organisms, Populations & Ecosystems) in the biology bachelor’s program. I am currently in charge of a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Applied Entomology (entom’AID). I am also a member of the National University Council (CNU) for section 68 and co-head of the doctoral program in the Graduate School of Health, Biological Sciences, and Chemistry of Living Systems at the University of Orléans.
