Presentation of the Board of Trustees (CA)

As the University’s governing body, the Board of Trustees is composed of 36 members, teacher-researchers, teachers, administrative & technical staff, students and personalities from outside the institution. The staff members’ representatives are elected for 4 years, and student representatives are elected for 2 years.

The Board determines the institution’s policy. In this regard:

  • It approves the university's institutional contract;
  • It votes the budget and approves the accounts;
  • It approves agreements and conventions signed by the institution's president and, subject to specific conditions set by decree, loans, equity investments, the creation of subsidiaries and foundations as provided for in article L. 719-12, the acceptance of gifts and bequests, and property acquisitions and disposals;
  • It adopts the university's internal regulations;
  • Upon the President's recommendation, and in accordance with national priorities, it determines the distribution of jobs allocated to it by the relevant ministers;
  • It authorizes the President to institute legal proceedings;
  • It approves the annual activity report, which includes a balance sheet and a project, presented by the President;
  • It approves the social report presented each year by the President, after consulting the technical committee referred to in article L. 951-1-1. This report presents the evolution of the balance between permanent and contractual positions, and the actions taken to reduce precariousness among the establishment's staff. The data and results of this report are examined in the light of the human resources planning objectives set out in the contract referred to in article L. 711-1;
  • It deliberates on all matters submitted to it by the President, in particular in the light of the opinions and wishes expressed by the Academic Council, and approves the latter's decisions in application of V of article L. 712-6-1 ;
  • It adopts the multi-year master plan for disability policy proposed by the Academic Council. Each year, the President presents the Board of Trustees with a report on the implementation of this plan, together with results and monitoring indicators.
