The normal student status (RNE)

The normal student status is for “regular” students. They must attend all lectures (CM) and seminars (TD). They are evaluated via continuous assessment.

The special student status (RSE)

The special student status allows students to benefit from adjustments of their schedule (exemption from attendance requirements for certain courses) and choose their own assessment methods (without continuous assessment).

Authorization to waive attendance requirements does not prevent students from attending classes. However, no continuous assessment grade will be taken into account.

Who can benefit from the special student status?

The special student status is intended for students who cancan justify their inability to attend all courses

Students in one of the following situations are eligible for the RSE:

  • Students authorized to take a gap year;

  • Students working an average of at least 10 hours a week;
  • Students holding elected office in university councils and regional centers for university and school works;
  • Students with families or considered as family carers;

For which courses?

The RSE can be obtained for all or part of the courses.

The learning of knowledge and skills is then assessed through final exams in the courses concerned.

How to require a special student status?

Students eligible for the special student status must download the RSE application form or obtain one from the faculty’s reception desk.
