The architectural project for the Campus in downtown Orléans aims to create a modern university environment while preserving the historic heritage of the former Porte Madeleine Hospital. The 18,000-m² campus will accommodate nearly 4,200 students and will comprise two main centers:

The administration and research center

Located in the renovated historic building of the former hospital, the new center will house the administrative services and offices of the University of Orléans' teaching and research staff in law, economics and management.

Located on two levels within the new building, with direct access to classrooms and lecture halls, the 2,500-m2, 600-seat Learning Center will offer new ways of teaching and documenting. It will contribute to the quality of living and studying conditions, teaching and research, and preparation for a professional life, in close partnership with teachers, researchers and university services.

  • It will offer functional, modular and diversified spaces: vast reading rooms, a set of 40 rooms for group work, a training area, as well room dedicated to doctoral students, researchers and teacher-researchers, a language center, relaxation areas...
  • In addition to the paper collections, most of which are freely accessible on the first floor, users will find the necessary services and equipment in all the areas, which they can use independently or with the help of librarians to consult digital documentation, acquire information skills and develop innovative learning practices.
