Once the equipment (furniture, IT, audiovisual systems, etc.) has been installed and after approval for opening has been granted by the safety commissions, the facilities (Faculty of Law, Economics and Management and Learning Center) are expected to be accessible for the start of the academic year in September 2027.
Two buildings are planned:
A renovated historic building, which will house the "Administration and Research Hub".
It will include five floors with offices for administrative staff and teacher-researchers, meeting rooms, and the council / thesis defence room.
A new building, which will house the "Student Hub".
It will include six lecture halls, numerous classrooms (including five computer rooms), the university library, offices for student associations, a cafeteria, offices for the IT and audiovisual services, and a 600-space bicycle parking area.
Following several surveys conducted among staff and students, the six lecture halls on the Madeleine Campus will be named:
- Simone Veil Lecture Hall (600 seats)
- Robert Badinter Lecture Hall (500 seats)
- Amartya Sen Lecture Hall (400 seats)
- Gisèle Halimi Lecture Hall (300 seats)
- Suzanne Grinberg Lecture Hall (200 seats)
- Robert-Joseph Pothier Lecture Hall (100 seats)
The Student Hub lobby will be called the Jeanne d’Arc Hall.
Yes, the new campus will be accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Elevators will be available in both buildings, and special attention is being given to accessibility signage.
A 250-seat university restaurant run by CROUS will be located in the immediate vicinity of the two buildings.
165 student housing units managed by Crous will be located on the new city-centre campus.
The Madeleine Campus will include a Learning Center open to all students and staff of the University.
It will provide the current collections and services of the Law, Economics and Managament (DEM’O) library, as well as access to digital resources and large reading rooms across two floors. There will also be numerous group study areas, rooms dedicated to doctoral students and teacher-researchers, and classrooms for tutorials and training sessions.
The Learning Center will also host the Language Centre and the “Prépa Talents” preparatory class of the French National School for the Judiciary (École Nationale de la Magistrature).
The city-centre university campus is located a 10–15 minute walk from the Orléans train station.
