The Constitution of the Fifth Republic reaffirms our solemn commitment to Article One of the 1789 Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, which states that women and men are born and remain free and equal in rights. Under this republican framework, equality is both an obligation and a necessity for our University. All of our reflections and actions must therefore contribute to building and giving meaning to equality, a value at the very foundation of our society.
