Cutting-edge laboratories

 

The University of Orléans (UO) relies on a strong network of 25 research laboratories, recognized for the excellence and diversity of their scientific work. These laboratories cover a wide range of disciplines, organized into four main areas:

 

These structures play a central role in fostering scientific activity in the region, actively contributing to the generation of knowledge, the supervision of doctoral students, and the implementation of ambitious collaborative projects.

The research themes address major contemporary challenges such as energy transition, climate change, artificial intelligence, and the analysis of social and cultural transformations.

In close collaboration with businesses, local governments, and public institutions, the laboratories of the University of Orléans promote innovation, technology transfer, and the dissemination of research to society.

 

Research rooted in the region and open to the world

 

The UO is a key player in research in the Centre-Val de Loire region and beyond. With strong academic, institutional, and industrial partnerships, it conducts high-level, multidisciplinary, and constantly evolving research.

These partnerships enable us to conduct collaborative research, to exchange knowledge, and to develop innovative solutions.

Our national partners include prestigious institutions such as the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Geological and Mining Research Bureau (BRGM), the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (Inrae), and the Orléans University Hospital (CHU d'Orléans).

 

The University also maintains scientific partnerships in many countries and welcomes international researchers and PhD students each year. It is an active member of both European and international research networks.

Thanks to these strategic alliances, the University is able to create a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment, fostering the emergence of ambitious and forward-looking projects supported by competitive national and European funding (ANR, Horizon Europe, ERDF, etc.).
