Come and discover the Unplug Zone on the La Source campus
Located between the covered walkway of the Faculty of Science and the Physics-Chemistry building, the Unplug Zone (“Bulle de déconnexion”) is open to both students and staff members of the university. Its aim is to enjoy a relaxed and friendly moment, far from screens and smartphones!
The unplug zone was inaugurated in October 2024 and is the result of a collaboration between the University of Orléans, the CROUS, Orléans Métropole, and the MGEN as part of the Agir Ensemble label for sustainable campuses. On site, you will find:
- A ping-pong table;
- Two chess tables;
- A book exchange box;
- As well as picnic tables in a quiet, tree-lined area.
Ping-pong paddles, chess pieces, and outdoor games are available at the AIDE desk (upon presentation of a student card).
The Unplug Zone won the 2024 Initiative Award!
As part of the Agir Ensemble Days for Sustainable Campuses, held in Paris on November 28–29, 2024, the Orléans Alliance received the 2024 Initiative Award for the Unplug Zone!
