With the firm belief that well-being is essential for academic success, the University of Orléans has developed a wide range of services dedicated to student life. Whether on an academic, personal, or professional level, UO students benefit from a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive environment throughout their studies.

Personalized support tailored to each student

The University of Orléans offers personalized guidance in academic orientation and professional integration, starting from the first year through to graduation. Dedicated advisors are available at the Maison de l'Étudiant (Students' House) to help students shape their future plans, choose the right path, or make changes if needed.

To address potential everyday challenges, the AIDE Help Desk (Individual Support for Students) simplifies administrative procedures, assists in emergencies, and provides the necessary support during difficult times.

Located in the Sciences lecture halls block on the La Source campus, the AIDE also offers a range of initiatives to help students connect with others and reduce isolation.

In the event of health issues, the University Health Services composed of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals offer free consultations, listening, information, and referrals. It provides first-level healthcare, while the Disability Support Services (Passerelle Handicap) help implement study and exam accommodations to reduce the impact of temporary or long-term difficulties.

Services to enhance the university experience

The La Source campus, equipped with a university gym, a sports hall, and a free-access fitness trail, is also located near the Stade de La Source, a swimming complex, and the Limère Golf Course.

Throughout the academic year, the cultural center Le Bouillon offers numerous events on the Orléans campus and nearby university sites, in addition to a nationally recognized program. It helps organize major events and projects such as the Le Grand Bain Festival and the Bouillon'Up music competition.

Spread across all university sites, the University Libraries (BU) provide a variety of study spaces, digital resources, and printed materials for students, as well as training in research skills.

In recent years, they have also become true living spaces close to students' daily lives, offering well-being services (rest rooms, animal therapy) and year-round events (exhibitions, board game lending, themed activities, etc.).

A dynamic and committed student life

The University of Orléans hosts more than a hundred student associations across its various campuses! These associations cover a wide range of interests: sports, theater, radio, international solidarity, science communication, promotion of foreign cultures, music, student unionism, and more. They ensure a vibrant atmosphere on campus and foster connections between students through shared interests or causes.

For many years, the UO has recognized and rewarded voluntary engagement - whether through elected roles or association leadership - within the Bachelor’s program. Student association leaders and elected representatives on central councils have the opportunity to earn credits through an elective course unit. In January 2023, a transversal elective unit (UEOT) focused on civic engagement was also introduced.
